These words can cut right to our souls – just like they did to the crowd that Jesus spoke them to. So many times, we get caught up in our righteous judgment and anger and forget. We forget that none of us is without sin. We forget the plank in our eye and are quick to point out the speck in someone else’s. What would it look like to see someone with the eyes of compassion? To forgive easily and remember that we are all imperfect beings saved by grace? Next time condemnation creeps in, and we are ready to judge, let us not forget His words. He who is without sin cast the first stone.
