At this time of year, we talk about it. We sing songs about it. But we have to ask ourselves the question, “Do we have joy?” It’s the kind of joy He came to bring us so many Christmases ago, an everlasting joy. It’s not dependent on our circumstances and is unshakable when the world is tail spinning around us. It remains only because of who He is and how much He loves us. And when we remain in that love.
“AS THE FATHER HAS LOVED ME, SO HAVE I LOVED YOU. NOW REMAIN IN MY LOVE. IF YOU KEEP MY COMMANDS, YOU WILL REMAIN IN MY LOVE, JUST AS I HAVE KEPT MY FATHER’S COMMANDS AND REMAIN IN HIS LOVE. I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS SO THAT MY JOY MAY BE IN YOU AND THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE COMPLETE.” JOHN 15:9-11
