Yesterday I thought a lot about scars. I realized that even though I have been born again and renewed in Christ, I still have scars from my past life. I can still have reminders of past pain and trauma. For a brief moment yesterday, I focused on a particular scar, and it took me right back to that time when I was afraid and when I was hurting. After that moment, I remembered that I’m not who I was before, and instead of focusing on my scars, I need to focus on Jesus’. Because of what He did on the cross, I have a new life; I am healed. I am whole.
Whatever you are going through right now, readjust your focus and place it on Jesus. We need to remember that “He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.” ~ Isaiah 53:5
