A picture of jesus in the empty tomb.

So much of my past life consisted of never letting anything go. I held onto old memories, past mistakes, regret, bitterness, and unforgiveness. And when my hands could no longer carry these things, I put them in suitcases and dragged them wherever I went. After a while, you don’t even realize they’re there, and you become used to the heaviness in your heart. But you never feel free. You never feel whole, and I never had any real peace.
What took me a lifetime to realize is that when you believe in what Jesus did on the cross and let it soak in, you can lay all that baggage down at the foot of the cross. He came to save us, forgive us, free us, and let us walk in that freedom. Today, I offer others and myself the love, sacrifice, and forgiveness that Jesus offers me. And to do that, I need two free hands. What are you carrying today? Isn’t it time to let it go?
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14
