A black and white image of the words stay teachable.

When I was a child, I loved to learn new things. I would run home to my Mom and tell her what I had learned that day. But as I grew up, I became more and more confident in what I knew and didn’t like to be corrected or told that I was wrong. Pride slipped in, and I stopped being teachable.

The problem with pride is that it stops us from recognizing when we’ve made mistakes. It keeps us from learning new things because we feel we know it all. When I was born again and chose to follow Jesus, pride had to go. I realized that I had so much more to learn. I make mistakes every day, and I need to allow the Father to talk to me, gently remind me, and realign my heart with His. I have to stay teachable. And so do you. It’s the only way we can become more and more like Jesus!

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen” ~ 2 Peter 3:18
