A group of people standing on top of a hill.

Before God even took the Israelites out of Egypt, He promised his people that he would deliver them: “I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.'” Exodus 6:6-8

Yet even though He proved time and time again that He was faithful, they were stiff-necked and stubborn and grumbled at every situation – and they wandered for 40 years in the desert. Would they have made it in half the time if they had grumbled half as much? And what about us today? Are we willing to obey God and trust Him, aligning our lives with His Word? Are we ready for OUR promised land?
