How about you, my friends? Are you having trouble forgiving someone, maybe even one time? The Bible is filled with powerful verses on forgiveness, as though God knew how seemingly impossible this would be for us to do on our own. But we must remember that Christ died for us while we were still sinners and that with His help, we can forgive. It wasn’t until I read the following verse that I felt the total weight of how important forgiving others is to my own forgiveness: “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven,” said Jesus. (Luke 6:37)
We are not perfect. We sin and make mistakes every day. And so do other people. We need to let go and forgive others as we want Jesus to forgive us, as we need Him to forgive us. Understanding this makes it easier to let go and forgive and to love others as Jesus loves us.
