Why is it called Good Friday? There was nothing good about the trial, the mocking, the flogging, the crown of thorns, or the nails that pierced His flesh. But let me remind you why. It was for us; our sins, our shame, we’re the reason He was sent – to restore us to God and be the ultimate sacrifice. A man without sin took on the world’s and died in our place. He was pierced for our transgressions, allowing us to meet Him one day, face to face. Because of Him, we can have forgiveness and everlasting life, where there will be no more tears and no more strife.
That’s good. That’s Good Friday. That’s Jesus.
