What is love? First Corinthians 13:4-7 describes it perfectly: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” Amen!
When I read this, I’m not seeing love as a feeling. I read each word or phrase as an action, something I need to do. And just like everything else in my life, I can’t do these things—I can’t love-without God. I’m so grateful that love doesn’t give up because God has never given up on me, and He will never give up on you. Hallelujah!
