A black background with the words letting go of gossip.

It’s easy to get caught up in talking about someone else. One thing leads to another, and before we know it, we’ve gone from nodding along to adding our two cents. But this is not helpful to the person we’re talking to or the person we’re talking about. How do we show Christ in our lives by going along with people?
It’s hard to “speak up” by not saying anything at all, but I believe we’re called to live not only by our words but by the things we do not say. Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Letting go of gossip is holding onto love and being obedient to the way God calls us to live.

“Do to others as you would have them to do you.” ~ Luke 6:31
