Growing up, I was always confused when we discussed the bride of Christ. “Who was the bride?” “When is she getting married?” “Who is she marrying?” These were just some of my questions. But it wasn’t until the last couple of years that I could comprehend this beautiful union. I could understand who the bride is and what it means. You see, we are the bride – the church. We have set ourselves apart, faithfully waiting for Jesus, committing our love and lives to Him alone. And one day, when He returns, it will be a joyous celebration- a beautiful wedding, a marriage of the Lamb.
“Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”– for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
