The Foundation: Proverbs 24
I’ve seen both sides of this verse. When my parents were happily married, and we were all going to church, the rooms of the house were overflowing with treasures. They built their foundation on the Lord and trusted in Him alone. But as the years went by and they drifted from His truth, a heavy air filled our home, weighted with tension and misunderstanding. It was nothing you could see, but only feel, as you walked from room to room. The treasures all but disappeared, and we were left with emptiness.
Going deeper than a physical house, what foundation are you standing on? Are you building yourself up with wisdom? Are you filled with all the things God tells us are treasures: love, compassion, hope, truth? Hold onto these verses today and think about ways to strengthen your foundation and fill your rooms with the rare and beautiful gifts from God.
