What do you see when you look in the mirror? Maybe it’s a failure as a husband or wife or student in school. Perhaps you see someone who has been let down time and time again by people you trusted. Maybe you see someone out of work and out of time, or you no longer recognize the person looking back at you. No matter the reason, you have run to this mirror for too long, hoping to see a thinner you, a younger you, a happier you. But the answer isn’t in the reflection; it’s inside.
The mirror has rejected me countless times because it’s how I see myself and what I feel I need to present to the world to be accepted. But the truth is, we need to start seeing ourselves as God sees us, not how the world sees us or even how we see ourselves. We need to start embracing who we truly are – children of God, made in His image, created for a purpose, forgiven and loved, sons and daughters of the Most High King! It’s time to see THAT and believe!
