A tree with money growing on it and the words " the root of all evil ".

It buys food and clothing. It can put gas in your car and light up your home. And it can build buildings, build nations, and bring change. But as Jesus points out in many of His teachings, it’s a heart issue and brings up the question, what does money mean to us?
1 Timothy 6:6-10 says, “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into foolish and harmful desires and plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”
Contentment is vital to pursuing righteousness above all things, trusting in our Lord and Savior. May our wealth be shown in the treasure we have in heaven and the love, joy, and peace we have in our hearts today.
