What to wear…

I used to spend a lot of time worrying about what I would wear. If I looked just right, it would cover up what I was feeling on the inside. I didn’t want them to see my brokenness. I didn’t want them to see my shame. I wanted them to think that I had it all together. Some people do this exact same thing, but for different reasons. Maybe they are hiding their sin, their old life, a deep-rooted pain. We clothe ourselves each day with this manufactured material and forget about the one essential thing we need to put on. Paul tells us in Romans 13:14 to clothe ourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ. He’s reminding us that it’s time to wake up, to put aside the desires of our flesh, to remember that our salvation is close at hand. Whatever you are clothing yourself with today, no matter the reason, it’s time to clothe yourself with Jesus.
