A red flower with snow on it and the word isaiah written in front of it.

In Ancient times, dyes were of great importance. They used them to color clothing and fabrics for sacred ceremonies, burials, and purification rituals. The scarlet dye (shani in Hebrew) was one of the colors, and once used, it could not change. It was a permanent color. The people understood that once something was scarlet, there was no going back. But Isaiah paints this picture that one thing can change scarlet to white: white as snow, and that’s Jesus.

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

Nothing we have done is too great a sin for Jesus. Today, let Him wash you white as snow.
