To walk in this world, we need to recognize the battle and that we can’t do it in our own strength. While we need the full armor of God, we especially need the Shield of Faith and the Sword of the Spirit. The Shield of Faith extinguishes all the flaming arrows of the devil; every lie, every verbal attack, every sharp blow. The Sword of the Spirit is God’s Word. This is our truth and what will give us victory. It’s time to suit up! It’s time to rise up!

I will not camp in sadness and disappointment and measure defeat by the shape of this world. But I will rise up and stand victorious, confident in Who created me, marching forward with raised shield and sword, ever listening, ever believing, and ever trusting in my Lord.
