Do you ever have one of those days? The ones where you wake up late, nothing goes right, you say all the wrong things, hear all the wrong things, live in the past, are afraid of the future, and before you know, it’s time to go to bed and start it all over again the next day? Those are the days we need to pray the hardest. And those are also the days we can learn the most.
I’ve found that I’ve drawn the closest to God during my worst days. I’ve learned to lean on Him, drawing His strength in my weak, insecure moments. And when I got through to the other side, there were lessons I learned that I would’ve never discovered if it had been the perfect day. In my thankfulness for the day being over, I find my gratefulness for what I learned, and if given a choice, I would do that same day over the exact same way. I discovered my Hallelujah’s in the hard days.
May we stand firm on Romans 5:3-4 and lean into God, knowing “we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Amen
