“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.”
It was David who wrote these words. All his time in the wilderness, he would’ve seen plenty of Ibex (deer like this) bounding down the hillsides, jumping from cliff to cliff with ease. It was how the Ibex was designed. David is saying this is how God will equip him for his journey, making his feet like the feet of a deer- and it’s the same for us. When we trust in God’s faithfulness, we have everything we need. He enables us to stand on the heights.
