We are Blessed!

Just behind Capernaum is the hill where it is believed Jesus preached His first sermon. The people gathered, hearing these life-giving words, hardly comprehending how this man could preach and teach with such compassion and authority.While Jesus started with the Beatitudes, he paints a picture of the Kingdom of Heaven and gives us instructions on how we should live and bring that Kingdom here to earth.In Matthew chapters 5-7, one could camp here to understand how we should love, give, pray, and not worry. But it’s when we read through the Beatitudes, we can relate to each phrase: the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the persecuted, and know that we are experiencing the same struggles, still hanging on Jesus’s every word.Today, imagine yourself sitting on a hill overlooking the Sea of Galilee, listening to the words of Jesus. Let the world fall away and open your heart to His voice. We a̲̲r̲e̲ blessed because great is our reward in heaven, and knowing that Jesus is with us.
